"Salton ! quart yogurt maker"
By E. Berriolo (USA)
I can't believe how the price of this item went up! about 10 years ago I bought it for $6.99. I am sure not very many peoples will believe me, but is is true.
It is a good product and still works.
I never spent the money for the starters, because I add commercial yogurt to the milk and leave it overnight in my yogurt maker. It is easy and the yogurt, European stile, tastes good.
My only concern is that I think it is unhealthy to have a plastic container heated for hours with food in it.
I am now looking for stainless steel or glass yogurt maker.
"Excellent Machine, not only for Yoghurt, but also for Quark!!!"
By Stefani M. Garcia
Bought it last week and ordered the cheeseclothes from [...] and made Quark this week. It was soooo delicious, just like when you buy the Quark in a german store and better. My daughter loved it as well! Easy to use and very easy to clean. Can only recommend this particular item. To bad they don't reproduce these anymore :(. However I can just say buy it, you will not be dissapointed. I used 1 quart of culturized whole Buttermilk and it made 1 pound of Quark. I left it in the machine for 15 hours and let the liquid drop out for 3, than refrigerated it for about 2 hours (it thickens that way a little more). Yes, it takes a long time, but let me tell you, it is well worth it!!!! Oh and it is small enough to store it anywhere in your cabins!
